Product Description

EARL GREY FOR FOR EARL GREY LOVERS Our Earl Grey Imperial tea is an elegant tea with a little extra bergamot, as compared to a regular Earl Grey tea. So it is an absolute must for those who just need a little bit 'extra' in their Earl Grey. A particular blend of teas from China and India are flavored with natural bergamot oil. This fine afternoon tea was originally commissioned for British Prime Minister, Earl Grey. Ingredients: Black teas, Oolong Tea, Natural Oil of Bergamot.

GREAT PRESENT IDEA This tea is featured in Harney's Historic Royal Palaces Collection in a traditional tin design, making it a great present idea for tea lovers. Tin contains 30 sachets. Each sachet contains enough tea to brew a 12 ounce cup of tea.

BREWING SUGGESTION Tea is only as good as the water it is brewed in. Use filtered water as needed. Use one sachet for each cup of tea desired. Pour 212F water over the tea and infuse for 5 minutes. Remove the sachet. Relax and enjoy. Contains caffeine, 40-60 milligrams per cup.

Buy it, but directly from Harney & Sons instead of Amazon…
Dont buy from Amazon if you want to get the canister open without spraining your wrist or needing something to pry it open with but… The actual tea is exquisite. Now, when they say to put boiling water over the tea - they do mean literally BOILING. Don’t use simmering or just barely bubbling. That water needs to be 212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius - not a degree less. Doing this makes those tea leaves and infusions plump up so nice and plump because Harney & Sons appears to use a freeze drying process. Doing this will yield a robust 2 cups of brewed tea. Using water that is not hot enough (for this particular brew - Earl Grey Imperial) will yield a weak brew. Keeping the tea bags in the water to steep too long will make your tea bitter but you should definitely- carefully- squeeze your teabags out once they cool slightly to extract the remainder of that essence. I use a citrus press for that because then I don’t have to wait for it to cool. My beloved loves the aroma of his Earl Grey ever morning when he takes his time to listen to his music and get centered for the day. It has become a delightful ritual for him and for less than $1.20 a day (he goes through about 8 brewed cups a day), it is an inexpensive indulgence. The canister is a generous size and is easily reusable - I have found that I made a delicious Earl Grey infused cookie and these naturally make the perfect tin for gifting them in… right along side a tin of the actual tea, of course… But I recommend ordering it directly from Harney & Sons. The quality control is superb, the canisters are always carefully packed so that I never end up with the issue I have had with just about every Royal Palace Canister I have purchased from Amazon - they don’t exercise care or quality control after receipt of this amazing product, especially after it is packaged for shipment, often in a paper or plastic bag with other, heavier items, which then warps and bends the metal canister (excellent for keeping the tea perfectly fresh) to the point where you get to find whatever super thin metal you can to try to shove under to lip of the lid and sort of work your way around, prying it open. It’s a good way to kill the time waiting for the water to boil on the stove, I guess… But I would rather be planning out next travel adventure. We are deciding between Brazil or Curaçao 🙂

I'm looking for one stronger than twinings, this has failed.
Opening the tune I thought great! A lovely bergamot scent.
    However...
The lack of bergamot flavour is disappointing.
It's pretty much just a black tea in
fancy bags, but lack of taste made for very disappointed cuppa!
I thought being more expensive and after reading reviews they would be better. They are not.
